To open an item or items in an info window from the Finder:
- Drag the items to File Buddy’s icon in the Dock or to File Buddy’s icon anywhere in Finder.
- Press the Command key while dragging items to File Buddy’s icon, and choose the item from the pop-up menu in the Select Action window.
- Open a contextual menu for the selected items in Finder and choose from Finder’s contextual menu.
- If you have configured a Hot Key to open an Info window, select the desired items and press the appropriate key combination.
- If you created a keyboard shortcut for the command in the Keyboard pane of System Preferences you can use that shortcut to open a File Buddy Info window for selected items.
As installed, File Buddy opens items dragged to its icon in an Info window and asks for an action when the Command key is pressed while dropping items. If you have changed either of these settings, the first two methods listed above may not work as described.
To open an item or items in an Info window from within File Buddy:
- Choose (Command-I) and select the desired items.
- Select one or more items in a List window and click the Info toobar item, or press Command-I.
- If the When File Buddy opens preference is set to , you can select one or more items in the dialog that appears when File Buddy is launched and choose from the menu in the dialog.
